Red Character Sheet

FINALLY Red has a character sheet!

Rosanna/Falcolf: Now, I know most foxes are more orange than this, but for some reason I just couldn't bring myself to make Red any other colour than well, red! There won't be many unusual pelted characters in Canidae as head of animalian design I can promise that to you now. I modelled Red after an old little fox toy I had that I named Red after Red XIII of FFVII. Because Red's colouration is kinda unnatural, I wanted to make sure I made his markings as realistic as possible, so I watched a lot of fox footage on YouTube to get a better idea of what their anatomy is like, as well as how their markings tend to go. Here are some stuff I found:

1. Foxes are extremely lanky and long legged
2. Foxes have narrow faces and large ears
3. Foxes are rail thin and generally have thin white tipped tails that are darker in colour than the rest of their bodies
4. Foxes have slitted pupils like a cat's

Now, for #3, I just couldn't bring myself to make Red's tail all scrawny, so since he's from the far north *excuse* I thought it would be okay if I made his tail nice and floofy. For #4, I thought he looked better with round pupils and that most people wouldn't notice anyway. I dunno, maybe fox eyes do the same dilation thingy that cat's do and do get round. I'll try to incorperate some slit-eyed action in the comic in any case, but it just looks weird to me...

So yeah, pretty damn happy with this here design. Only like 50 animal characters left to do sheets for, yaaaay. >< Main characters will get sheeted first of course.

I'm thinking that Red's coat will 'cause him some trouble' in the story.

...I made his claws light coloured 'cus I thought it looked neat. Foxes probably have dark claws. I like the claws I drew this round.
