One of my absolute favourite pictures that I took. I really hate how my camera made it look so unclear, but Tuk is so bloody magnificent that it hardly matters. I love the contrast in the water against Tuk.
I might (key word MIGHT) try making a digital painting out of this photo, then sending the image to Northern Lights Wildlife Wolf Center so they can sell it and then it could help the wolves. That would make me feel pretty good that my art would be doing something helpful for the world.
I dunno if I have the courage to paint this though. Tuk is soooo magnificent and I would hate for an image of him to look awful.
Definately my best picture. Makes me want a better camera with clearer pictures though, one that has less blur. This was taken at the flank of the Columbia River, outside of Golden, B.C., Canada.
The greenness in his fur was from him rolling in deer poop.

I have a question. do you know for sure this is Tuk? I think it's Maya. They look really alike but Maya has a lighter spot on her nose. And Tuk hasn't. I'm not sure but I think it's Maya. Look at this link to their site: [link] and the link of Tuk's and Maya's page: [link] [link]
No, it's Tuk for sure. I was walking with the handlers Casey and Shelley as well as the wolves, so I'm pretty sure they know who's who. Also, wolf markings, particularly dark wolves, change over time, so it might be possible that since I hiked with Tuk in 2009 his markings have shifted. I don't think Casey and Shelley would of brought Maya and Aspen out together, as the last I heard the two were at odds over pack position. (They fight.) Thanks for the query though! - =Falcolf
oke then. yes, Casey and Shelley know there wolves^^ and indeed, it's not a very good idea to bring Maya and Asper out together. I've heard it too, they fight over the betha position. I wish I had walked with wolves there. but it was already full and we where there for only one day, then we traveled further to the other parks. I would have LOVED it if I could walk with them
